The AA man said it was highly unlikely to be the turbo, but the wooooing noise did sound like it. The car is a 57 plate, it has been fully serviced and MOTd, and has done 45k miles. I bought a Ford Focus 1.8 TDCI (115ps) for my first car around three weeks ago. I have since given it a service and have renewed the rear brake pads, air cleaner element. oil filter element and done an oil change. The car has close to 90,000 miles registered on it. sounds like you got a lemon. my dads focus is a 1.8tdci and it can shift. with 36k miles on it, still drives like new. im considering buying one next as i reckon its a very good car. and as for the noise level, its not bad in my dads one, can barely hear it at idle.

Other remappers Ive seen have seemed to have trouble with the 8 valve 1.6 tdci, with the older 16 valve variant making around your figure (110ps stock and the 115ps only hitting 135ps or there abouts. Glad you're happy dude.
